Life Lesson number two - What do you need?

I still remember back in March when it felt like summer in Scotland.

All week we experienced blue skies and warmer weather. After a while we started to expect it, everyone seemed happier, and life felt lighter.

On one weekend my niece and I visited our local beach in Irvine, a fifteen-minute drive away. It was pretty lively, with all sorts of sights. Dogs running free, kids splashing in the water and parents enjoying the people watching opportunities.

We dipped our toes in the water and laughed.

All around families were enjoying the seaside vibes, in March.

We weren't there long, maybe twenty minutes, but that's all we needed to feel the warmth of the sand as we walked out to the water, the chill of the water as we stepped in, and the sun on our faces.

Sometimes that is all we need. Twenty minutes to reset and feel fresh. A chance to pause and be grateful, feel alive.

What do you need today to reset? A five-minute cuppa, reading a few pages of you book in the sun, listening to a podcast, or a brisk yoga flow.

We don't need hours or days to feel like a new person, sometimes all we need is a quick dip in the sea.

For me, it is a twenty-minute morning meditation to clear my thoughts to start the day feeling calm and connected back to me.

Allow yourself ten to twenty minutes each day to pause, reset and feel refreshed. How does it feel for you? Not sure, then ask yourself “What do I need today?”
